মুন্ডুম নেরিয়াথুম
মুন্ডুম নেরিয়াথুম (মালয়ালম ভাষা: മുണ്ട് നേരിയത്; সেট্টু-মুন্ডু বা মুন্ডু সেট) হল দক্ষিণ-পশ্চিম ভারতের কেরল রাজ্যের মহিলাদের ঐতিহ্যবাহী পোশাক। এটি শাড়ির প্রাচীন রূপের প্রাচীনতম অবশেষ। এটি কেবল দেহের নিচের অংশটি ঢেকে রাখে।[১][২] মুন্ডুম নেরিয়াথুমে, সর্বাধিক বুনিয়াদি ঐতিহ্যবাহী অংশটি হল মুন্ডু বা নিম্নাঙ্গের পোশাক। এটি শাড়ির প্রাচীন রূপ যেটি মালয়ালম ভাষাতে 'থুনি' (কাপড়) হিসাবে চিহ্নিত, এবং নেড়িয়াথু হল উর্ধাঙ্গের পোশাক।[১][২] মুন্ডুম নেরিয়াথুম দুটি কাপড় নিয়ে গঠিত, এবং এর ঐতিহ্যবাহীভাবে পরার ধরনটি হল নেরিয়াথু ব্লাউজের অভ্যন্তরে ভাঁজ করে দেওয়া হয়, বা আধুনিক শৈলীতে বাম কাঁধে নেরিয়াথু পরা হয়।[১]

মুন্ডুম-নেরিয়াথুম হল হিন্দু, বৌদ্ধ এবং জৈন সাহিত্যে "সাটিকা" নামে পরিচিত প্রাচীন শাড়ির বিদ্যমান রূপ।[৩] মুন্ডু হল প্রাচীন নিম্নাঙ্গের পোশাকের একটি রূপ যেটি অন্তরীয় নামে পরিচিত এবং একটি বিশেষ উপায়ে পরিধান করা হয়।[৪] প্রাচীন বৌদ্ধ-জৈন গ্রন্থগুলিতে উল্লিখিত ডান কাঁধ থেকে বাম কাঁধ পর্যন্ত পরা উত্তরীয় নামের পাতলা স্কার্ফের আধুনিক রূপান্তরকে নেরিয়াথু বলে অভিহিত করা হয়।[৪][৫] এই দুটি পোশাক অবশেষে বর্তমানে কেরালা শাড়ি তে রূপান্তরিত হয়েছে।[৬][৭][৮]
মধ্যযুগীয় কেরালা থেকে পাওয়া ম্যুরাল চিত্রগুলিতে মহিলাদের দ্বারা পরিধান করা তিন ধরনের পোশাকের অস্তিত্ব চিত্রিত করা হয়েছে, এর মধ্যে রয়েছে এক-টুকরা মুন্ডুম, অধিক্রমিত কুঁচি সহ এক-কাপড়ের শাড়ি যেটি আজ মোহিনীয়াট্টম নর্তকীদের দ্বারা পরিহিত নীবি শাড়ির অনুরূপ এবং দুই খণ্ডের মুন্ডুম-নেরিয়াথুম পোশাক যা কেরালা শাড়িতে রূপান্তরিত হয়ে গেছে।[৯]
