প্রথম ইরানি সংবাদপত্র 19 শতকের মাঝামাঝি সময়ে প্রকাশিত হয় নাসির আল দীন শাহের শাসনামলে । [১] আরো বিশেষভাবে, ইরানের প্রথম সংবাদপত্র, কাগজ Kaghaz-e Akhbar (সংবাদপত্র), দ্বারা সরকারের জন্য চালু করা হয় মির্জা সালেহ সিরাজি 1837. মধ্যে [২] দ্বারা 1907 (যুগ ফার্সি সাংবিধানিক বিপ্লবের ), সেখানে ছিল 90 ইরানে ছড়িয়ে সংবাদপত্র। [৩]
১৯৫২ সালে মোহাম্মদ মুসাদ্দিকের সরকারের অধীনে পঁচিশটি দৈনিকসহ ৩০০ সংবাদপত্র ছিল। [৪] ১৯৭৯ বিপ্লবের সময় সংবাদপত্রের সংখ্যা ছিল ১০০, যার মধ্যে তেইশটি দৈনিক ছিল। [৪]
