'''মঙ্গলদৈ''' ({{lang-en|Mangaldoi}}; {{lang-as|মঙলদৈ}}) [[অসম|অসমের]] [[দরং জেলা|দরং জেলার]] মুখ্য নগর। স্থানটি [[ব্রহ্মপুত্র]] নদের উত্তরপারে অবস্থিত। [[ব্রিটিশ ইস্ট ইন্ডিয়া কোম্পানি|ইস্ট ইন্ডিয়া কোম্পানির]] বনিকেরা নগরটি গঠন করেছিলেন। ইংরেজরা [[কোচ রাজবংশ|কোচ রাজার]] থেকে দরং রাজ্য দখল করে মঙ্গলদৈকে দরং রাজ্যের শাসন কেন্দ্র স্থাপন করেছিলেন। ১৯৮৩ সনে [[হিতেশ্বর শইকীয়া]] অসমের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী পদে থাকার সময় অসমের জেলাসমূহকে পুনর্গঠন করেন। সেইসময়ে ১৯৮৩ সনের জুলাই মাসে অবিভক্ত [[দরং জেলা|দরং জেলার]] দুইটি মহকুমা মঙ্গলদৈ ও [[তেজপুর|তেজপুরকে]] জেলা পর্যায়ে উন্নতি করা হয় ও নবগঠিত জেলা দুইটি [[শোণিতপুর জেলা|শোণিতপুর]] ও [[দরং জেলা|দরং]] নামে নামকরন করা হয়। নবগঠিত দরং জেলার সদর স্থাপন করা হয় মঙ্গলদৈ নগরে কিন্তু বিভাজনের পূর্বেও দরং জেলার সদর স্থান ছিল মঙ্গলদৈ।<ref>http://darrang.nic.in/darrang_files/dist.htm</ref>
