ওয়াল্টার স্কট: সংশোধিত সংস্করণের মধ্যে পার্থক্য

প্রকাশনা ব্যবসায় ধ্বস নামলে স্কট দেনার বোঝায় জর্জরিত হয়ে পড়েন এবং বাকী জীবন সেগুলি শোধ করেই কাটিয়ে দেন। ব্রিটিশ সরকার স্বাস্থ্যের উন্নতির স্বার্থে তাঁকে ভূমধ্যসাগরগামী এক ফ্রিগেটে বিনামূল্যে যাত্রী হবাস সুযোগ করে দেয়। এই ভ্রমণ শেষে তিনি অ্যাবট্‌সভিলে ফিরে আসেন এবং ১৮৩২ সালের ২১শে সেপ্টেম্বর ৬১ বছর বয়সে মারা যান। ড্রাইবার্গ অ্যাবির ধ্বংসাবশেষে স্ত্রীর সমাধির পাশেই তাঁকে সমাহিত করা হয়। ১৮৪৪ সালে এডিনবরাতে তাঁর স্মরণে একটি সুক্ষ্ম কারুকাজময় গথিক ধাঁচের স্মারক ভাস্কর্য নির্মাণ করা হয়।
