'''স্ফেনডন পান্কটাম''' Sphendon punctatum যা Tuatara বা Sefnodon নামে পরিচিত। tuatara শব্দটির উৎপত্তি মউরী ভাষা থেকে যার অর্থ কাঁটা যুক্ত পিঠ।এরা সরিসৃপ শ্রেনির Rhynchocephilia বর্গের একমাত্র জীবিত সদস্য। এটি জীবন্ত জীবাশ্ম। এরা নিউজীল্যান্ড এর নিকটবর্তী দ্বীপ এ থাকে। এই স্থানে এরা এন্ডেমিক। Tuatara জলপাই সবুজ , বাদামী , ধূসর রং এর হয়ে থাকে। লম্বায় ৮০সেমি । ওজন ১.৩ কেজি। এরা দেখতে টিকটিকি আর কুমিরের সাথে সাদৃশ্যপূর্ন। দেহে দানাদার আইশ থকে।
