আপনাদের সকলকে আনন্দের সাথে জানাতে চলেছি যে ২০১৮ সালে উইকি লাভস মনুমেন্ট প্রতিযোগিতাটি সাফল্যের সাথে সমাপন করেছি এবং রিপোর্ট জমা করেছি, তাই এই প্রসঙ্গে জানাতে চাই এবারও আমরা West Bengal Wikimedian User Group উইকি লাভস মনুমেন্ট ২০১৯ ভারতবর্ষ প্রতিযোগিতাটি আয়োজন করতে চলেছি। এই প্রতিযোগিতাটি ১লা সেপ্টম্বের ২০১৯ থেকে ৩০শে সেপ্টেম্বর ২০১৯ এক মাস ব্যাপী চলবে। এই প্রতিযোগীতার বিষয়ে আপনাদের সকলের সহযোগিতা আমাদের প্রয়োজন।

Project Grants Proposal: Wiki Loves Butterfly Phase-V

Hi Wikimedians,

Greetings from Wiki Loves Butterfly team. As you might know, for the last 4 years, we have been documenting butterfly taxon endemic to eastern and north-eastern part of India through the Wiki Loves Butterfly project. Our aim is to increase the amount of free license materials along with enrichment of related content on different Wikimedia sites. Our project has been previously supported by 4 Rapid Grants. Since the beginning of the project in 2016, we have gained considerable amount of expertise, maturity and confidence to successfully plan and execute field-documentations and expanded our area of activity in remote deep forests of North East India. But the range of activities in all of our previous endeavors were much restricted due to budget constraints, which has now encouraged us to apply for the Project Grants Program for the coming phase, for vaster and more extensive qualitative documentation related to the topic. The WLB team is requesting all interested Wikimedians to visit our Project Grants proposal and provide valuable feedback and suggestions here. If you feel this project proposal is eligible to get the grant, then you can endorse the proposal here. -

Description

What are the Proposed activities?

In this year (2020), the West Bengal Wikimedians User Group has decided to organize the Wiki Loves Monuments in India for the third year in a row. Through this competition event the people are invited to upload images of monuments under a free license for usage on Wikimedia projects.

After finishing the event, the community will declare the names of ten winners and award them the prizes apart from sending those entries for the global challenge. The prize will be Gift Vouchers (like Amazon, Flipkart etc) and SWAG materials like T.Shirt, magnates etc. We are requesting CIS to provide us the prize money/ financial support.

Further more, the different banners of Wiki Loves Monuments in India shall be posted in the Facebook page of Wiki Loves Monuments and responsibilities of the promotion of the same for the span of one month shall rest solely upon you. Please allot money for promotion as per your convenience. It is also our request if a CIS-A2K staff take the responsibility to promote in the social media as we will be fully occupied during the event.

What are the Expected impact?

Going by previous year statistics (here), the expected impact is as follows:

Number of participants: 1500 Number of new users: 1000 Number of photos uploaded to Wikimedia Commons: 10000 Number of photos used on Wikimedia projects: 300

The Gift voucher may be distributed as follows:

1st Prize ( 12,000 INR ) worth Gift voucher

2nd Prize ( 10,000 INR ) worth Gift voucher

3rd Prize ( 8,000 INR ) worth Gift voucher

4th and 5th ( 6,000 INR X 2) =12,000INR worth Gift voucher

6th to 10th (4,000X 5 = 20,000 INR ) worth Consolation Gift voucher

So, the total gift voucher amount will be 62,000 INR

For the SWAG material, it will be 12,300 INR

For core volunteer WLM Sweatshirt = (950X 6) = 5,700 INR

Total Expenses (62,000+12,300+5,700)= 80,000 INR

COVID-19 এর পরিবর্তিত পরিস্থিতিতে ভারতীয় স্বেচ্ছাসেবীদের সহযোগীতা জন্য সমর্থন কর্মসূচি

COVID-19-এর দ্বিতীয় তরঙ্গ সারা দেশে পরিবর্তিত পরিস্থিতির কারণে আমরা সকলেই খুব কঠিন সময়ে মধ্যে দিয়ে চলেছি। তিক্ত এবং কঠোর সত্য যে আমরা অনেকেই ইতিমধ্যে আমাদের প্রিয়জন, ঘনিষ্ঠ বন্ধু, আত্মীয়স্বজন, প্রতিবেশীদের হারিয়ে ফেলেছি। আমাদের মধ্যে কেউ কেউ চাকরিহীন, ব্যবসায় ক্ষয়ক্ষতি, হাসপাতালে ভর্তির বিশাল ব্যয় ইত্যাদির কারণে অর্থনৈতিক সমস্যার মুখোমুখি হয়েছেন অথবা হচ্ছেন।

এই সঙ্কটের মাঝে ভারতে বসবাসকারী উইকিমিডিয়া স্বেচ্ছাসেবকদের সহযোগীতা জন্য একটি সমর্থন কর্মসূচি শুরু করা হয়েছে। এই প্রোগ্রামটি নিম্নলিখিত কর্ম্ম সমর্থন করবে -

• টিকাকরণের ব্যয় সরূপ অর্থ প্রদান
• COVID-19 সুরক্ষা কিট প্রেরণ
• বিশেষজ্ঞদের পরামর্শদান

এই সমর্থনটি সেন্টার ফর ইন্টারনেট অ্যাণ্ড সোসাইটি অ্যাসেস টু নলেজ (CIS-A2K) পক্ষে থেকে প্রদান করা হবে। আজ অথবা আগামীকাল থেকে এই টিকাকরণের ব্যয় সরূপ অর্থ প্রদান করা হবে। COVID-19 সুরক্ষা কিট প্রদান বিভিন্ন যৌক্তিক কারণসমূহ উপর নির্ভর করে, তাই এই প্রেরণ পদ্ধতি এক সপ্তাহ বা তার বেশি সময়ের মধ্যে আরও সুসংহত হবে। দলটি প্রথমে সম্প্রদায়ের যাদের এই সাহায্য সব থেকে প্রথমে প্রয়োজন তাদের সমর্থন করার চেষ্টা করবে।
