Haydar Ghazi's descendant by the name of Shaikh 'Ali Sher Bangali wrote a book called ''Commentary on the excursion of the souls'' ({{lang-ar|شرح نزهة الأرواح|Sharḥ Nuzhat al-Arwāḥ}}) which contained one of the earliest biographies of Shah Jalal.<ref name=bpedia>{{cite book|title=Banglapedia: National Encyclopedia of Bangladesh|author=Abdul Karim|chapter-url=http://en.banglapedia.org/index.php?title=Shah_Jalal_(R)|chapter=Shah Jalal (R)|publisher=[[Asiatic Society of Bangladesh]]}}</ref><ref name=hanif/><ref name="ali2">{{harvtxt|Ali|1965|p=17}}</ref><ref name="ali1">{{harvtxt|Ali|1965|p=62}}</ref> However, [[Muhammad Mojlum Khan]] is of the solitary opinion that the biography was written by Haydar Ghazi himself, under his pen name Shaykh Noorul Huda Abul Karamat.<ref name=mojlum>{{cite book|title=The Muslim Heritage of Bengal: The Lives, Thoughts and Achievements of Great Muslim Scholars, Writers and Reformers of Bangladesh and West Bengal|author=[[Muhammad Mojlum Khan]]|publisher=Kube Publishing|date=21 October 2013|page=23|chapter=Shah Jalal}}</ref> The latter is most likely an error as the book was written in 1571, 2 centuries after the time of Haydar Ghazi.<ref name=inqi/> The ''Sharh'' written by Ali Sher is a primary source which inspired the later and more well-known - ''Gulzar-i-Abrar'' - a collection of Sufi saint biographies written by Muhammad Ghauth [[Shattari]] of [[Mandvi]] in 1613.<ref name=bpedia/><ref name=mojlum/>
