মানুষের দেহের উদরস্থিত বায়ু যখন পায়ুপথে নির্গত হয় তখন তাকে বলা হয় '''অপান'''। মানবশরীরের পাকক্রিয়ার ফলে এই বায়ু সৃষ্টি হয়ে থাকে। এই বায়ু মলনালীতে সঞ্চিত থাকে এবং পরিমাণে বৃদ্ধি পেলে তা নিঃসৃত হয়।
