আসামের প্রশাসনিক বিভাগ: সংশোধিত সংস্করণের মধ্যে পার্থক্য

১৮৭৪ সালে চিফ কমিশনারস প্রভিডেন্স হিসেবে অসম গঠন করা হয়েছিল। তখন অসমের রাজধানী ছিল [[শিলং]]। প্রশাসনিক সুবিধার জন্য তখন অসমকে ছয়টি জেলায় বিভক্ত করা হয়। সেগুলি হল: গোয়ালপাড়া, কামরূপ, শোণিতপুর, নগাঁও, শিবসাগর এবং লখিমপুর জেলা। এই কয়টি জেলা ব্রহ্মপুত্র উপত্যকার। তখন এটি অসম উপত্যকা বলেও পরিচিত ছিল। ১৮৮০ সালে অসম উপত্যকার ন্যায়াধীশকে কমিশনার রূপে অতিরিক্ত দায়িত্ব দেওয়া হয়েছিল।<ref>"In 1879, Sir Bayley, therefore, proposed to the Government of India that the Judge of Assam Valley to be the ex-officio Commissioner of Assam Valley.
