বিভাগের জিওইনফরমেটিক্স গবেষণা শাখার(Geo-informatics Research Unit) কাছে সারা বাংলাদেশের বিভিন্ন সময়ের বিভিন্ন প্লাটফর্মের উপগ্রহ ডাটা রয়েছে এবং প্রধান প্রধান জি আই এস এন্ড রিমোট সেন্সিং সফটওয়্যার রয়েছে। এই শাখার কাছে বাংলাদেশের বিভিন্ন লেভেলের খুব ভালো ভেক্টর ডাটার আর্কাইভ রয়েছে<ref name="auto"/>। সেগুলো গবেষণায় ও প্রশাসনিক কাজে অত্যন্ত কার্যকারী।

এই বিভাগে এম.এস পড়াশোনার ক্ষেত্রে শিক্ষার্থীদের ৪ টা সেকশন থেকে বিভিন্ন কোর্সের মধ্যে থেকে মোট ৫ টা কোর্স পড়ার জন্য আবেদন করতে হয় । বিভাগটি যেসব কোর্স সরবরাহ করে সেগুলো নিচে উল্লেখ করা হল:
