প্রবন্ধে ব্যবহৃত তথ্য অবশ্য [[উইকিপিডিয়া:যাচাইযোগ্যতা|যাচাইযোগ্য]] হতে হবে। একাধিক অর্থ হতে পারে এমন লেখা পরিহার করতে হবে অথবা নিখুত ভাবে তথ্যসূত্র উল্লেখ করতে হবে। প্রবন্ধের সারমর্মতে তথ্যসূত্রের লেখকের মতামতকে তুলে ধরতে হবে, তথ্যসূত্রে বলা হয়নি এমন যেকোনো মতামত মৌলিক গবেষণার অন্তর্ভূক্ত। উৎস অবশ্যই লেখার বিষয়বস্তুর সাথে সামঞ্জস্যপূর্ণ হতে হবে।
